HyTerra Limited (ASX: HYT) has expanded its acreage position at the Nemaha Project in Kansas, increasing its lease holdings by 8,000 acres to a total of 60,000 acres. This expansion supports HyTerra’s significant exploration campaign, which includes three additional well permits recently approved by the Kansas Corporation Commission....
Project Summary
Nemaha is located between Kansas City and Wichita in the centre of a major industrial and manufacturing hub. The project can be connected via railways, roads, and pipelines to a long list of potential offtakers nearby including ethanol and ammonia manufacturers, and petrochemical plants, all heavy hydrogen users.
Nemaha’s exploration acreage covers 60,000 acres and is 100% owned and operated by HyTerra. Their leases have historic wells with more than 10 hydrogen and helium occurrences within the region, some up to 92% hydrogen and 3% helium*.
The majority of hydrogen today is used in oil refining, ammonia production, and methanol production.
Over 35% of US ammonia is produced in Kansas and neighbouring states, presenting HyTerra with major multiple commercialisation opportunities. In time, hydrogen’s unique properties could see it emerge as an attractive, low-cost, clean energy source for transportation, steel and cement production, energy storage and power generation
