HYT secures second drilling permit for Nemaha Project, USA

Project Name: Nemaha Project
Project Location: USA
Project Stage: Advanced Exploration

ProjectBank Summary:
HyTerra Limited (ASX: HYT) has received a Permit to Drill from the Kansas Corporation Commission for the Blythe 13-20 well within the flagship Nemaha Project. The well site is approximately 1,400m east of the historic Scott-1 well, which reported up to 56% hydrogen in 1982. HyTerra's Nemaha Project comprises around 6,500 acres of 100% owned and operated lease holdings. The company is preparing additional drilling permits in parallel to support the final selection for its maiden drilling campaign, which remains on track for Q3 2024. The Blythe 13-20 well will target deeper sections of the sedimentary and basement rocks, unlike the historical wells that drilled only half of the sedimentary section.

HyTerra Highlights:

  • Permit to Drill received for the Blythe 13-20 well within the flagship Nemaha Project, Kansas.

  • Well site staked approximately 1,400m east of the historic Scott-1 well, which reported up to 56% hydrogen.

  • HyTerra holds ~6,500 acres of 100% owned and operated lease holdings geologically contiguous to this well.

  • Additional Permits to Drill are being prepared in parallel for other hydrogen and helium prospects to support final selection for maiden drilling, which remains on track for Q3 2024.

MD/CEO Statement:
Benjamin Mee, Executive Director, commented: "Very pleased to get our second well permit approved. The original Scott-2 well only drilled approximately half of the sedimentary section and no basement. Like the recently permitted Sue Duroche-3, the planned well trajectories are going a lot deeper than the neighboring historic wells to test these deeper sections. Given the geological play diversity available, we will continue the permitting of drilling locations of several independent hydrogen and helium prospects to support the final well selection for the company’s upcoming exploration program."
