Basin Energy Confirms High-Grade Niobium, Uranium & REEs in Sweden

Market Update

Rock chip sampling returns high-grade niobium, uranium & rare earth elements

Basin Energy Limited (ASX: BSN) has received high-grade rock chip assay results from reconnaissance sampling at the Prästrun and Håkantorp projects in Sweden. The results confirm the presence of significant niobium, uranium, tantalum, and rare earth element (REE) mineralisation. At Prästrun, sampling returned up to 0.43% Nb (4,350 ppm) and 0.12% U₃O₈ (1,153 ppm), supporting its polymetallic potential. At Håkantorp, uranium-rich samples taken from interpreted tailings piles near the historical Frakengruvan iron ore pit yielded up to 0.39% U₃O₈ and 0.33% TREO. Structural core logging and multi-element assay sampling continue at the Virka historical drill sites as Basin refines its exploration model.

Pete Moorhouse, Managing Director, commented: "The latest multi-element assay results are highly encouraging, confirming the potential presence of strategically important minerals within a multi-element mineral system. With growing global demand for critical minerals essential to clean energy technologies, including nuclear power and advanced materials, these results position our project as a potential strategic asset. We look forward to integrating these results into our broader exploration model and continuing cost- effective field work as the next steps to establish the full potential of these mineral-rich systems.”

About the Vrika Project
The Virka project is strategically positioned in the heart of the Arjeplog-Arvidsjaur shear-hosted uranium district in Sweden, and approximately 37 km southeast of Boliden’s (STO:BOL) Laisvall Pb-Zn-Ag former mine.

Previous drilling activities conducted in the 1980’s across all licenses targeted uranium mineralisation, with diamond drillholes gamma probed and in rare occasions sampled for geochemical analysis. Additionally, historical regional geological mapping and boulder tracing records unveiled several surface anomalisms in lead, zinc, silver...
